The band is led by world class flutist Ric Frank, who has been performing Latin music for over 40 years. His first Latin gig was with Chino y Conjunto Melao at Town Hall in New York, backing up Latin luminaries Ishmael Quintana and Ishmael Rivera. Ric continued to work with Conjunto Melao for several years. Since then Ric has performed with Louis Ramirez, Bobby Rodriguez y Nueva Compania, Ray Santos' Caribbean Music Experience, Henry Fiol y Corazon, Chi Hua Hua's Orchestra Metropolitana, and has shared the stage with Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros, Dave Valentine, Larry Harlow, Alfredo de la Fey, Oscar Hernandez, Arturo O'Farrill, and Armando Manzanero, to name a few.
Ric has studied flute with Joaquin Oliveros in Cuba, Maricio Smith, Jeremy Steig, Julius Baker, and Samuel Baron. His percussion studies have been with Cuban master Jose Eladio Amat and Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba.
